About the conference
Travel within Stockholm
Travel in and around Stockholm is very simple and distances are short; the many public transport options are quick and reliable. Karolinska Institutet is approx. 30 minutes from the main train station (Stockholm Central) where there is access to the underground/metro system (known in Sweden as the TBana.) This is extensive, quick and easy to understand. It is also known as the world’s longest art exhibition, as every station has been decorated by a wellknown artist. Most of the conference hotels are within walking distance of Karolinska Institutet; at most 20 minutes away. Taxis are available on the
streets or on order by phone. Beware of using unauthorized taxis!
The public transportation system is integrated so all tickets can be used on bus, TBana, local trains and even some boats. There is free transfer within the system if used within 60 minutes. Discount coupons are available from newspaper agents or can be bought at public transportation stations for SEK 200.You are advised to buy these coupons if you intend to travel on public transport; they will certainly be simplest and provide the best value for those delegates wishing to see some of the tourist sights. Cash payment on the public transportation is not accepted.
